Presentation Specialist

Since 1978 Green Calgary has been providing Calgarians with the resources they need to live more sustainably.  We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Presentation Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering engaging and impactful presentations to diverse audiences. This role involves attending and coordinating events, developing, and delivering programs, and assessing program effectiveness. 

This role will support the organization’s workshop, Lunch & Learn, and seminar program areas for public engagement and program delivery to ensure that Green Calgary can keep doing the amazing work we started over 45 years ago. 

Working with the Executive Director and other Program staff, the Presentation Specialist is responsible for outreach and engagement with community partners to offer Green Calgary’s products and services, as well as delivery of those services.  

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Event Attendance and Coordination: 

Attend various events as a representative of Green Calgary. 

Coordinate to ensure smooth execution of presentations. 

Collaborate with event organizers to tailor presentations to specific audiences. 

Program Development and Delivery: 

Develop engaging presentation materials tailored to different audience needs. 

Deliver presentations to diverse groups, including professionals, English Language Learners (ELL), and youth. 

Utilize various presentation tools and technologies to enhance audience engagement. 

Program Assessment: 

Evaluate the effectiveness of presentations and programs. 

Gather feedback from participants to identify areas for improvement. 

Implement changes based on feedback to improve future presentations. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Proven experience as a Presentation Specialist or in a similar role. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Ability to engage and connect with diverse audiences, including professional, ELL, and youth. 

  • Experience in event coordination and planning. 

  • Proficient in presentation software and tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Prezi, etc.). 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

Additional Working Requirements:  

Able to lift up to 25 kg.  Current and valid driver’s license. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required. 

 

This is a 1-year contract, part-time position paying $27,840 per year for 22.5 hours a week, with the intent to become permanent after the first year. Work schedule is flexible based on event bookings with some combination of online and in-person content delivery. Work location is flexible between office and remote work. Benefits include health, dental, and health spending account available after 90 days.
